What is Regenerative?

Regenerative is an insights platform and onchain application on Celo accelerating the transition towards Regenerative Economies.

Regenerative finance (ReFi) is a term used to describe a concept that integrates financial practices with social responsibility, sustainability and regeneration. Regenerative Finance aims to create economic systems that go beyond generating financial returns to focus on restoring and enhancing social, environmental and economic well-being.

The Regenerative platform provides comprehensive resources, such as a ReFi projects and organization dictionary, guides, blogs, and tools to accelerate onchain Regenerative actions while developing onchain applications that leverage the latest technical innovations to develop #ReFi solutions that accelerate the transition to Regenerative Economies.

The first #ReFi application is a Liquidity Engine based on the Balancer V2 technology on Celo mainnet, consolidating native projects into a unified token economy that regenerates liquidity and promotes ecosystem growth.

As a Public Good on Celo

The Regenerative dApp is open-source and aims to function as a Public Good on Celo, the leading Blockchain network for Regenerative developments.

Because of the mission alignment with Celo and the resources it provides, creating a symbiotic relationship with the Celo ecosystem will help Regenerative become the primary hub for onchain Regenerative Finance coordination and ultimately realize our vision.

As such, a significant portion a potential $REFI token will be allocated to the Celo Community Treasury.

Built on Balancer

The Regenerative dApp is built on the open-source code of the Balancer Protocol version 2, a decentralized automated market maker (AMM) protocol built on Ethereum Chains that represents a flexible building block for programmable liquidity.

As the Regenerative dApp develops, it aims to provide value upstream to the Balancer Protocol, such as new smart contracts, UI elements, and tokeneconomics.
